Rich Soil, Strong Foundation

1 Corinthians 3:9 states “for we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

Martin Luther King Jr. once said “human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of people willing to be co-workers with God.”  We are “God’s fellow workers,” we are “God’s field,” we are “God’s building.”  It is up to us to do His work.  Human progress WILL NOT roll in on “wheels of inevitability,” it must be worked for.

Lord,
Lord I am willing to work with You as Your co-worker.  Give me a tireless vision of Your Kingdom coming to earth. Help me to view Your world as You view it; and help me to fight in order to make it a place where You want to dwell.

If I am your field I pray that my soil would be filled with life, I pray that my roots would be deep in You, and I pray that I am planted near the stream of life.   If I am Your building may my walls offer protection for the weak, may by doors be open for those You send my way, and may by confines be filled with the grain from the harvest.

Use me to create “human progress” that is more than just temporary physical progress, but spiritual progress that will last for eternity.

Amen
