WOW!

“These are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.  What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.  This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.  The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, for, ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”  -1 Corinthians 2:10-16

I find it incredibly overwhelming to know that I serve the God of the entire universe, who is all powerful and all knowing and that He is willing to share His deepest thoughts with me, and anyone else who asks.  What an awesome gift!  How empowering is it to know that “what we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God” that “we have the mind of Christ!”

Once again I am reminded of the lyrics from Here and Now by Paul Baloche:

“What majesty, what mystery,
The God of all eternity
Stepped into time and gave His life for me
Your hand is seen in galaxies,
Yet Your Spirit dwells in me
So vast and yet You’re still within our reach”

Who would have thought that an all knowing God would be so willing to share His knowledge with all of His creation?  Not just some of His knowledge, but all of it!  He has withheld nothing.  What an amazing God He is, what an incredible savior!

Dear Lord,
Thank You for giving us Your mind.  Thank You for sharing Your thoughts with us, even when we don’t share ours with You.  Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit so that we can live purposefully instead of wandering aimlessly.  Lord help us to realize that when we can’t hear You it isn’t because You aren’t speaking, it is because we aren’t listening.  Help us to become one with You so that we can hear You speak; help us to be one with You so that Your thoughts are our thoughts, and our actions reflect You.  Thank You for this amazing gift, You are an amazing God.  I love You, teach me to love the things You love.

Amen
